Speaker Series: Art and Urbanism

Art and Urbanism. How and when do they intertwine? A city's aesthetic is not just structural; it's about its story, purpose, drive, hopes and dreams, captured using many different mediums.

The Capital region displays its heart through sculptures of scrap metal, community gardens, graffiti covered hotels and knitted parking poles.

Art is all around Lansing. But if you want to know where to find it, what it means for our city and why it's important, then you need to join us on April 25, at 6 p.m. at Fenner Nature Center, (2020 East Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing).

Discussions will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.

Panelists include:
  • Simón Perazza, ArtServe Michigan
  • Vincent Delgado, Michigan State University
  • Sam deBourbon, local artist (of Deluxe Inn fame and more!)
