About 240 people gathered for appetizers, drinks and creativity Friday night under the banner of
Ignite Lansing. The event was a sold-out success, with all but 20 tickets gone the first weekend they were available.
"We knew there was a buzz about it; we knew it would be an exciting event," says Jeff Smith with the
City of East Lansing
who emceed the festivities. "But, being the first one in Michigan, we
didn't really know what to expect. It was definitely more than I was
expecting."

The Ignite Lansing event was presented by the
East Lansing Technology Innovation Center and the
Mid-Michigan Creative Alliance, who will also be hosting a
studio crawl to many local creative businesses and hot spots on April 23. (Click
here to register).
More than a dozen local businesses and organizations
sponsored
the evening. Planners are already hard at work on the next Ignite
Lansing event, and are hoping to host one every three or four months.
